Eighth Annual Bocce Tournament Raises over $35,000 for Horizons for Homeless Children
We are pleased to report that the 8th Annual Martignetti Family Charity Bocce Tournament was a resounding success! With your generous donations and participation in the Bocce Tournament, we were able to raise over $35,000 to support Horizons for Homeless Children, a charity near and dear to our hearts.
Kelly and Kayla continue to donate their time and energy each week to Horizons, and are extremely grateful for your support. Helping prevent poverty, homelessness and despair through education, nurturing and caring for the children we believe will help our society become stronger.
Your contributions helped make this day such a success! Through the support of individuals like you, we can make a difference for so many children. Your donations and participation in this fun-filled event are greatly appreciated! A special thanks to the wonderful Horizons staff who joined us for the day, and for educating us on the plight of homeless families.
If you were not able to attend this year, we hope you can join us next year. Please mark your calendars for the Ninth Annual Bocce Tournament on Sunday, October 13, 2013! (A simple way to remember is that it falls on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend.) Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next year!
With heartfelt thanks,
The Martignetti Family
Dear Family and Friends,
Proceeds from this year’s bocce tournament will benefit Horizons for Homeless Children which helps children learn how to play, to share, to read, and to enjoy exploring their worlds. They help parents learn how to be nurturing and involved in the growth and development of their children, and help them learn and grow through job training, GED and college courses. They help to stabilize families so that they can weather any crisis, and thus help to break the cycle of homelessness that too often occurs.
Since 1994, several thousand children have been served by the Community Children's Centers. They have recruited and trained more than 14,000 volunteer Playspace Activity Leaders since 1990, giving thousands of children living in family shelters across Massachusetts the opportunity to play, learn and to just be kids. They have training sessions for service providers in MA and participate in local and national conferences. They work with public officials in state and federal government to increase the resources available to young homeless children and to change the conditions that lead to family homelessness.
Please join us in supporting this wonderful organization. Thank you! The Martignetti Family
This year in the United States, 1 in every 45 children will be without a home.
Please consider supporting the Eighth Annual Martignetti Family Charity Bocce Tournament to benefit Horizons for Homeless Children.
Horizons for Homeless Children improves the lives of young children who experience homelessness and helps their families to succeed. We accomplish this by providing:
- High quality early education and opportunities for play
- Comprehensive family support services
- Advocacy on behalf of young children experiencing homelessness
- Training and technical assistance for other providers with similar objectives
There are many worthy nonprofits, and we are honored to be chosen as this year’s beneficiary. Please consider joining the Martignetti family in supporting Horizons for Homeless Children by registering for the Tournament today. Your participation will enable HHC to make a difference in the lives of homeless children and their families.
I look forward to seeing you on October 7th!
