Dear Family and Friends,
Another year has gone by, and our annual charity bocce tournament is right around the corner. This year, we have found an extremely worthy cause to raise money for. As thousands of our soldiers are fighting across the world for our safety at this moment, what most of us do not realize is the sacrifices that these soldiers and the families of the soldiers are making constantly.
First Lieutenant Michael J. Cleary was killed during valorous service in Iraq in 2005. A trained Sapper, a military munitions expert, he lost his life at the hands of an insurgent bomb along a roadside in Iraq, just weeks before he was expected home and to be married.
Michael Cleary grew up in Dallas, PA and from a young age he showed outstanding leadership, scholastic and athletic talents, and lived life to the fullest surrounded by many friends. In honor of this brave and noble man, the Martignetti Family Charitable Bocce Tournament will be donating all proceeds from the Fifth Annual Tournament to the Michael J. Cleary Memorial Fund. Not only will this Foundation make it possible for Michael’s family and friends to honor him, but it will support causes in the community that he gave his life supporting.
We hope that you will support us in our quest to raise money for this incredible cause. Without soldiers like Michael, our country would not be what it is today. We completely understand how unpredictable these economic times are, but with every soldier that is injured or killed defending our country, we should realize that our freedom sometimes comes at an incredibly high price. Please be as generous as you can in supporting this very honorable cause.
Sincerely,
Maya Martignetti
